It was the foundation stone of what is hoped will grow into a thriving startup community. Twelve months on and we’re heading in the right direction. It’s perhaps time, then, to look at the lessons learned from the experience of building a startup community from scratch.

  • We caught up with BAFTA nominated Selina Wagner, Animation Director, Blobina Animations   Tell us more about the work Blobina does. I create 2D animation for TV, film, games and apps. Over the years I’ve created more than 40 TV commercials for clients such as Chester Zoo, NHS 24 and the National Trust for Scotland, as well as many short films for clients such as the BBC, Glenmorangie distilleries and Chewits. I also create my own short films and apps.   • We sat down with one of CodeBase's Hotdeskers, Johnny Mitchell, for a chat about his company Caspian Psychology and basing himself from CodeBase Stirling the past couple months.    What's the nature of your business? We develop digital and non-digital interactive games for organisations based on clear leraning objectives. These games help organisations achieve their learning objectives through the principles of gamification. What are your plans for growth? Currently we have developed three interactive team games that are facilitated by our partners. In the near future we plan to develop short stand-alone apps and games that require no facilitation and can be played in the employees’ own time, but still linked to clear learning objectives.  ...
